ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Taylor Yocom (b. 1992, Des Moines) holds a BFA in Photography from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. Based in St. Louis, her practice explores femininity, the language of flowers, and craft through photography, collage, filmmaking, and weaving. Her work has been exhibited and screened in venues across North America such as projects-plus gallery, Indie Memphis, FilmDiaryNYC, Comfort Station Logan Square, The Times Club, and the Montreal Feminist Film Festival. Her artist books and zines are held in collections across the country including Rutgers University, Washington University in St. Louis, and the MOMA Library. She has been in residence at Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris and ArtFarm Nebraska. Recently, her installation “My mom said to always have flowers around,” was on display at the Lambert International Airport and her short film “These flowers were for you” won “Best Experimental Film” at the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. She is currently based in St. Louis, MO.

Emily Elhoffer is an interdisciplinary artist who makes bizarre and visceral work. They earned their MFA from Sam Fox School of Art & Design and live/work in St. Louis, Missouri. Elhoffer exhibits in galleries, museums and institutions nationally and internationally.

Elhoffer's work deals with themes that affect their body, and their pieces examine the ways in which societal norms, virtual space, and power structures shape someone’s own bodily identity. Through their art, Elhoffer invites viewers to question their own assumptions and consider alternative ways of living within one's own flesh.
