ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Martin Lammert makes referential work with elastic meaning. Through assembly, identifiable objects are allowed to stretch and elongate into something new and warped. There is a consistency of indefinable quality and a playfulness of material and arrangement.
Joseph Canizales is a Salvadoran Honduran American currently living and working in the Midwest. He received his MFA in Visual Arts from Washington University in St. Louis in 2022. Through digital and analog processes, Canizales work reflects upon our understanding of the intertwined relationship between geological forces and our built environment. He draws connections between the modern rapid construction methods of extracting, gathering, and processing of stone and the incredibly slow yet determined march of naturally occurring erosion. He utilizes 3D printing, 3D modeling, 3D scanning as his main processes to amplify an understanding of geological sites.
Zulay Rueda is Colombian, living in the United States since 2018. Her childhood and life in Colombia enriched her with countless situations that helped her grow as an artist. Zu’s work is an exploration of her feelings and opinions about migration. She uses social, political and cultural situations in Latin America to enrich her ideas and inspire her works. She is a professional in social work and a specialist in care policies with a gender perspective.
